My body has taken a turn in the wrong direction. That will not squelch my excitement in sharing all that I’m learning about using Essential Oils (EO).
Research and friends are showing me that using EOs can be of GREAT benefit. They can possibly even replace prescriptions! I have already found them to be very beneficial.
I am also using them to keep my household clean.
Honestly, people who do all this “granola” stuff have always confused me a bit. I haven’t understood why you would go to all the trouble. Now I have realized that MY health depends on this!
This is a new journey. I will experiment. You will benefit. Just because I do this doesn’t mean it’s right for you. My way was great until my body was not. No judging here!
A few points to remember about essential oils:
* It's not recommended to take them internally.
* You must mix it with a carrier oil (coconut, grapeseed, and almond, just to name a few) to see if your skin will tolerate the oil. There are some oils that I can use "neat" but "hot" oils really need a carrier. You can find tons of info online about which oils are hot and which are not.
*Oils mix with a body's chemistry. What works for me might now work for you. You have to be willing to experiment a little.

Liquid Castile Soap (64 oz.) ($1.50)
* bar Kirk's castile soap
* 8 cups boiling water
* mason jars (for storing)
1. Cut bar into slices/chunks
2. Process in food chopper/processor until very fine
3. Put soap into the boiling water and let sit (off of heat) for 1 hour or more
4. Stir and pour into mason jars for storage
If it solidifies once you've stored it, simply run under hot water until it turns to liquid again.
This applies to any products that you make with this liquid castile soap.
Liquid Laundry Detergent (2.5 gallons) ($3)
* Container big enough to hold 2.5 gallons or smaller containers, heavy plastic okay
* 3/4 cups washing soda (Arm & Hammer)
* 1 1/2 cups baking soda
* 3/4 cups liquid castile soap
* 7 drops EO (Cleaning blend from Eden's Garden is my first choice)
* 6 cups hot water plus more tap water
1. To the boiling water add washing soda, stir
2. Add in baking soda, stir
3. Add water to make 2.5 gallons (approx. 2 gallons and 2 cups)
4. Add liquid castile, stir
5. Add drops of EO, stir
6. Once cool, place in storage container (s)
I use 1 oz. for a small load, 2 oz. for medium, 3 oz. for large, 4 oz. for extra large
Liquid Dishwasher Detergent (32 oz.) ($3)
* 32 oz. container with lid, heavy plastic okay
* 3 tbsp. liquid castile soap
* 3 cups warm water
* 10 drops EO (Cleaning)
* 1 cup washing soda
* White vinegar (to use as a rinsing aid in the dishwasher)
1. Measure wet ingredients into container and mix
2. Add washing soda, place cap onto bottle, shake
To use, fill up your dishwasher's soap dispenser and go!
I highly recommend filling the dishwasher's rinse aid dispenser with white vinegar.
This recipe does tend to produce cloudy dishes when it is not used with the vinegar.
